| Creative Cooking for Kids We are excited to start a new adventure with creative cooking classes for children. The benefits of this program include: science (cause and effect, chemistry, predicting outcomes), math skills, hand-eye coordination, how to be a team player, how to take turns, how to work together, feel the sense of accomplishment, gain confidence, improve self esteem, identification of kitchen utensils/equipment, learn safety in the kitchen, understand nutrition value, express individual creativity and HAVE FUN! Each adventure features 90 minutes of hands on learning with Pastry Chef Jennifer Waddell. All materials will be provided including related set-up and clean up. Each child gets to take home their creation! Some classes are designed for an adult and child cooking team. We want to help create an opportunity for you to bond with your child as we "Get Creative for a Cause!" These classes are marked. Saturday, February 7th, 2009 7:00 p.m. "Meringue Castle" Build a sweet Valentines castle out of cardboard and then ice it with meringue. Embellish with candies, sprinkles, different colored sanding sugars and more!!! Take home your castle and allow it to dry over night for a fun centerpiece. Ages 7+ $30 Saturday, February 14th, 2009 2:00 p.m. "A Special Valentine" Children are invited to give mom and dad a break while they roll & dip one dozen chocolate truffles then adorn them with their choice of sprinkles. Children will place them in a heart shaped box and package them into a a bag with an adorable stuffed animal before tying with a bow. We will also make a card for the reciever of the gift! Ages 5+ $20 Saturday, March 14th, 2009 2:00 p.m. "Luck O' The Irish" Come decorate sugar cookies with different buttercream icings, sprinkles, colored sanding sugars, edible glitters and more! 6 cookies per child and a take home box that we will decorate together with crayons and stickers. Ages 3+ Child/Adult team required for children ages 3-6 $10 Saturday, April 11th, 2009 2:00 p.m. "Bunny Fruit Basket" Learn how to carve a beautiful basket out of fruit! We will use cookie cutters to cut out fun spring shapes and skewer them into a festive display for Easter Supper! Fruits to include canteloupe, honeydew, pineapple, strawberries, starfruit, and more! There will plenty of scraps to snack on after we're done. Making a healthy snack never tasted so good! Ages 3+ Child/Adult team required. $25 Saturday, May 9th, 2009 2:00 p.m. "Cookie Bouquet" Children recieve one terra cotta pot to decorate with glitter glue pens and ribbon,5 pre-baked cookies on a stick in the shape of flowers, kisses and hearts to decorate with food writing markers, edible glitters, sprinkles and colored sanding sugars. Once they are finished decorating their cookies, children place a fitted block of floral foam into the pots and then arrange their cookies into the pots. We will also create a Mother's Day card for that special mother or grandmother. Ages 3+ Child/Adult team required for ages 3-6. $25 Saturday, June 20th, 2009 2:00 p.m. "A Cake for Dad" Watch a demonstration on how to ice and decorate a cake, then ice and decorate your own 6" white cake! Learn how to basket weave, make shell pipe borders, and create flowers! Write a special message on the top of your cake if you like! Ages 7+ $25 July-December classes will post in May! To ensure the safety and enjoyment for each student, class sizes are limited based on space and availability. Payment is required at the time of registration to secure your date.
